Show Notes

***This episode of Bowl After Bowl was originally published April 22, 2014. The title and notes have been republished as originally written***

Today I had a chat with Tim “Bone Man” Burgess and Kelly Betz. Kelly Betz is the founder of No Coast Rap Battles, a collective of battle rappers who perform written a cappella raps in public battles. The Bone Man is also active with No Coast. In addition he is the promoter and host of the Bone Man Variety Show, a public performance variety show that features a wide range of diverse acts such as comedians, musicians, rappers and burlesque dancers. We sit down to talk about Tim's 4/20 weekend in Denver, how No Coast formed, how the No Coast Battle scene has a lot in common with both the comedy and sports fighting scenes and what events are coming up for No Coast and for the Bone Man Variety Show.

Create a Nostr identity in this browser

Nostr is an open protocol for simple social posts and messaging. Your identity is a cryptographic key pair: a public key (npub) others see, and a secret key (nsec) that proves it is you.

This site never sees your secret key when you use an extension or mobile signer. With this option we generate a key pair locally and keep the secret only in your browser so you can boost and publish without installing anything.

  • Next you will receive an nsec. Save it somewhere safe (password manager or offline). Treat it like a password.
  • Anyone with your nsec can post as you. Never share it or paste it into untrusted sites.
  • You can import the same nsec into Damus, Amethyst, Iris, or any other Nostr app—your identity moves with you.

Save your secret key (nsec)

Copy this nsec and store it somewhere only you control. If you lose it and clear your browser data, this identity is gone forever.

Never share your nsec. Anyone who has it can publish as you on every Nostr app.

You can paste this same key into other Nostr clients if you want to use your Bowl After Bowl identity elsewhere.
