Show Notes

***This episode of Bowl After Bowl was originally published April 11, 2014. The title and notes have been republished as originally written***

Today I was joined on the show by my good friend and mentor Mike Hagan. Mike hosted his own radio show, RadiOrbit, from 2004 to 2008 on Columbia's local public radio station, KOPN. We talk about broadcasting, podcasting, drug laws, the psychedelic experience, “finding the others,” and then end the show with a little chat about Altcoins, namely Dogecoin and Bitcoin.

You can find all the episodes of RadiOrbit on Mike's website here.

Also, if you're interested in dipping your toes into the waters of Dogecoin, I recommend following two steps:

First, download a wallet here (I recommend a desktop wallet).

Second, download and play Dogecade. It's a fun and extremely simple app used to play games for Dogecoin and learn about cryptos. As a newcomer you will receive 20 Dogecoin just for playing! The users of Dogecade are very friendly to newcomers, and it was the first online resource that made Altcoins make sense to me personally. My Dogecade username is shibespence, so say hello if you see me playing battleshibes!

We also mentioned subreddit pages that are good resources for learning more about Bitcoin or Dogecoin. I've listed a few below: r/Bitcoin r/Dogecoin r/Dogecade r/CryptoCurrency

If you enjoyed the episode, consider tipping some Doge or other Altcoins to the addresses on the right of the page.

Thanks for listening, and may your bowls burn ever brighter!

Create a Nostr identity in this browser

Nostr is an open protocol for simple social posts and messaging. Your identity is a cryptographic key pair: a public key (npub) others see, and a secret key (nsec) that proves it is you.

This site never sees your secret key when you use an extension or mobile signer. With this option we generate a key pair locally and keep the secret only in your browser so you can boost and publish without installing anything.

  • Next you will receive an nsec. Save it somewhere safe (password manager or offline). Treat it like a password.
  • Anyone with your nsec can post as you. Never share it or paste it into untrusted sites.
  • You can import the same nsec into Damus, Amethyst, Iris, or any other Nostr app—your identity moves with you.

Save your secret key (nsec)

Copy this nsec and store it somewhere only you control. If you lose it and clear your browser data, this identity is gone forever.

Never share your nsec. Anyone who has it can publish as you on every Nostr app.

You can paste this same key into other Nostr clients if you want to use your Bowl After Bowl identity elsewhere.
